For the past 42 years, Soke Steve A. Bennest / Judan 10th Degree Black Belt in the Japanese Martial Arts of Shotokan Karate and holding multiple Black Belts in Chinese, Korean and other Japanese Martial Arts, has always taught his students to give 110%, take risk and make sacrifices. Soke Bennest has lived hard and fast to this rule. He has fired hundreds of dishonest people from their employment for fraud, conartist deals, stealing, etc. He has kicked over 100 Black Belts out of Associations for conduct unbecoming. He has arrested numerous drug dealers as a undercover narcotics detective. No one wanted the job, Soke Steve Bennest did it, for free, no pay. So has he made a few enemies, of course, that is what making sacrifices is all about, that is dedication to the art in a different way. Cleaning of the system.
Soke Steve Bennest has pushed his students to attend Ninja Karate Campouts, belong to Search & Rescue, to do Parachuting, Scuba Diving, to do Technical Rock Climbing, Karate Tournaments, Karate Seminars, to learn
multiple styles of Martial Arts, not limiting yourself to one style and to push your self to your limits.
The Bennest Karate Schools for the past 42 years have been the leaders in Karate Demonstrations, winners in tournaments, setting up new and fantastic programs that no one else could muster. Many schools are now starting to realize, that maybe we do indeed have something there to offer in leadership, managements skills for students and instructors alike.
The Bennest Karate Schools are the leaders and instigators for starting the first Self-Defense competition for tournaments back in the 1970's. The Bruce Lee Award, the Regional Top Ten Awards program, He Man Contest, Thunderfist Championships, The Santa Lucia Mountain Range Karate Championships, the Puget Sound Karate Championships, ESTF - Eiger Sanction Mountaineering Task Force, SAT-SAR - Seattle-Tacoma Search & Rescue Training Unit, Olympic Fieldday Events, Master Black Belt Club, MAA Merit Badge Program, MAA Martial Arts Home Study Program, IDC = Instructor Development College,
and the hits just keep on coming !!!
